For two decades my landscapes have been drawn and painted directly from the natural world. The translation that happens en plein air has an effect that I can't reproduce in the studio. I try to convey a response to the landscape which carries the breathless enthusiasm I
experience while I am painting. My images are created with colored pencils (Prismacolor), ink and soft pastels. I am developing new monoprint images, moving into larger oil pieces and experimenting with mixed media, including gouache and oil pastel.
